SIGNIFICANCE
There is some great importance to this framework, The Seven Teachings is an excellent set of principles that organize Indigenous values. This framework is made up of 7 Indigenous values represented by animals. As you can see from the diagram, the teachings consist of basic, but important, values that consist of love, wisdom, respect, truth, humility, honesty, and courage. I believe that this framework is incredibly important as it teaches values that help build character among students, which as a result help young people become contributing members of their community. By incorporating this, I include Indigenous beliefs within the classroom setting, which is necessary for acknowledgment and reconciliation among Indigenous peoples of Canada.
